Miata Mechanical Fuel Pump Kit
Are you building a fast BP, and looking for a serious fuel pump? Tired of high current draw, diming lights, burned up relays and electric fuel pumps?
This bracket allows you to install a Aeromotive 11105 6 GPM Mechanical Fuel Pump to a Mazda BP 1.8L engine.
This pump flows 1362 LPH and goes up to 200 PSI... You can drain your fuel tank from full to empty in 2 minutes. You can pump the fuel to the motor faster than filling up your car at a gas station. You get the idea, this is a serious setup.
The entire bracket for the pump is machined from a single Billet of 6061 T6 Aerospace Grade Aluminum. We could have made it cheaper, but this part needed to be solid.
The post that go to the block are engineered to allow the pump to "swing" a bit. Just enough to tension the belt.
The Mandrel that drives the pump bolts to an ATI Harmonic Damper. You will need an ATI Damper to run this kit. But if you need this pump, you will already have the best damper for the BP anyway.
Pulley for the mandrel will be welded together for reliability. The pulley for the pump includes set screws. They may work fine? But I welded that pulley to the pump myself to guarantee it works and I recommend you do the same. Professionally of course.
This pump requires a -12AN feed line from the tank to the pump.
After the pump, -10AN is ok.
This setup locates the pump down low to minimize pump cavitation. A such, it is not compatible with the stock alternator. If you're making enough power to need this pump and still need an alternator, Summit Racing offers tiny 1 wire alternators in the 60-80 amp range that could be put on the driver side of the motor with some effort.
